Roby Burckhardt
Membership . Winter Show
Robyn is a veteran artist and work shop leader working from her Spring City studio she calls her “Nest”.
She doesn’t perceive herself as a realist by any means. Perhaps she moved into realism rather than from it. Currently, she continues working on a body of paintings of anchorages along the Chesapeake Bay’s Eastern Shore where she and her husband spend their summers on their sailboat. Most of the views are flat landscapes and shallow waters, hence the large sweeping skies that hopefully burst with color and yield a sense of calm.

When Mia was seven her father, an artist, photographer, and teacher, handed her the first 35mm film camera. Presently she captures her images with an iPhone; it is the camera she always has. She hasn’t stopped exploring and finding images of the unexpected. With a BA in Anthropology from Penn State, Mia continued her education with master classes in Anthropology (Temple), Education (West Chester), and Accounting (Penn State).
She is a member of local art associations, guilds, and educational art programs. She participates in their juried shows and has received many awards.

Johanne Lamarche
Communications . Instagram
Johanne is a French Canadian who came to Philadelphia to complete a residency in periodontics and stayed for love. Twenty years of volunteer work as an art educator with Art Goes to School fueled a passion to create art of her own.
She is inspired by the beauty of the natural world in its glory and its decaying forms. She enjoys having viewers bring their own personal experiences and feelings to interpreting her work and hopes her paintings carry a sense of uplifting energy, empowering inspiration, a moment of escape and always a sense of beauty.
